About the World Organization for Positive Action
History
The World Organization for Positive Action (WOPA) was founded in
2006 with the objective of helping improve conditions for families
and individuals in need of food and medicine, and in emergency
situations. WOPA officially became a 501(c)3 charity in 2009.
Who we are
WOPA members are volunteers who are committed to making the
world a better place. Board members meet monthly. Membership in
the World Organization for Positive Action is open to the
public.
What we do
WOPA is committed to provide food, medical supplies and services
to people in need around the world.
WOPA seeks to secure sufficient funds to support a broader range
of activities including the design and implemention of
community-based youth programs that will address the confluence of
factors, such as poverty, abuse, neglect, ineffective parenting,
dysfunctional families, organized gangs, and the high levels of
exposure to violence, drugs, and crime, that cause youth violence
and delinquency and prohibit wholesome adolescent
development.
Our goals
WOPA was founded to help alleviate the living conditions of
needy people around the world. As of today, we provide food,
medicine and medical attention but our hope is to provide services
that can contribute to the strengthening of families. Supporters
who share our passion and commitment for defeating poverty make our
work possible.
Where we work
Today we have carried out operations such as feeding the poor families, providing medical supplies and medical services in the Dominican Republic, the Republic of Peru, and the Republic of Salvador as well as in The United States.
