Food and Medical Relief

The World Organization for Positive Action (WOPA) has helped communities in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Savador, Nicaragua and Peru by providing basic necessities such as food and medicines to high need families in low income communities.

Past Projects

Baoruco Neiba Medical Relief in Dominican Republic (July 2009)

Treatments offered free of charge, including anti-parasitic medicine, antibiotics, vitamins and full check ups for the community.

Los Blancos, El Salvador (September 2009)

We distributed bags of beans, rice, sugar, powdered milk, oil, corn flower, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

La Puya de Arroyo Hondo, Dominican Republic (January 2011)

Distributed food and toiletries to under privilege families.

Hogar, Fe y Esperanza Shelter, Barahona, Dominican Republic (February 2010)

After Haiti was devastated by an earthquake, the Haitians crossed the border to seek assistance.  Distributed was food, toiletries.

San Francisco de Coyotes, Costa Rica (September 2011)

San Francisco de Coyote is a small, remote community in rural Costa Rica. We worked with a community leader to distributed food and toiletries to 26 families (70 adults and 55 children total).

Dominican Republic (March 2013)

Visited under privileged neighborhoods, distributing supplies for home repairs. (See picture 14).  This marks the continuing efforts of our yearly distribution.

St. Peter's Shelter, Clifton, N.J. (Multiple Years Since November 2013)

Donated Thanksgiving meals to shelter families.

Our Commitment

100% of your donation will be used to help people in need. Administrative costs are covered by the Board of Directors' membership fees. All travel costs for are paid by individuals.
